Pegasus Wreck Trip

Located near the USCGC Mohawk approximately 30 miles off of Redfish Pass, the Pegasus is a 110 foot steel-hulled tugboat built in 1927.  She lies in approximately 90 feet of water and is a fun dive to do as either a 2 tank dive or as a split dive with 1 tank on the Mohawk and 1 tank on the Pegasus.  There is abundant marine life on the Pegasus and plenty of swim throughs, nooks and crannies for fish to hide. Goliath grouper, barracuda and snapper are plentiful here and it’s an all-around solid dive.  She’s broken up a lot over the years, but nevertheless a great place to see huge bait balls, lots of fish and a chance at spotting a shark or two, eels or occasionally some lobster.

Due to the depth of this dive site, an Advanced level certification is required to dive the Pegasus.
